Holiday Schedule:
The exhibit will be open on both Monday and Tuesday March 16 &17 for Spring Break.
How long does it take to view the exhibition?
Visitors will spend approximately one hour inside the exhibition.
May I take pictures at the exhibition?
Photography is not allowed at the exhibition.
Will children enjoy the exhibition?
Since the exhibition is experienced in complete darkness, it is recommended for children 8 years of age or older. Admittance for children age 9 and younger is at the discretion of the parent(s). Children 16 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Where can I park and does it cost anything?
Parking is available in the large four-level parking garage on the west side of the Station and in the front parking lot. Prices and hours are as follows:
Parking Garage:
First 3 hours are free, after that it’s $1 every half hour with a maximum of $10 a day.
Front Parking Lot:
6 a.m. to 9 a.m. – Free
After 9 a.m. - $1 for 0-2 hours
$2 for 2 to 4 hours
$10 for more than 4 hours
Parking is available for Amtrak patrons in the parking garage for $10 a day
Where is the exhibit located?
The exhibit is located in the brand new Bank of America Gallery located on the Station’s lowest level. You may access the gallery from the B-level (the level you come in on from the parking garage). Follow the signs past ticketing and take a left at the escalators. Go straight ahead until you reach a set of escalators leading down to the lower level or C-level. Take the escalators down to the gallery entrance. An elevator is also available. See a Union Station staff member for directions to the elevator.
Are wheelchairs available?
Yes, wheelchairs are available for loan at the Information Booth located on the Station’s first level. Visitors will be asked to leave a valid driver’s license behind while the wheelchair is being used.
Visitors with special needs are welcome, but they MUST book in advance and inform about their special needs in order to be provided an appropriate and suitable service during the tour.
Are there restaurants to grab a bite to eat?
Union Station features three restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining. The Harvey House Diner serves quick, economical breakfast and lunch items. The Fast Track Deli features salads, sandwiches, and oven-baked pizza. Pierpont’s is a fine dining establishment specializing in steaks and seafood for lunch and dinner.
What are the terms and conditions of sale for tickets?
All sales are final. There are no cancellations, refunds or exchanges.
Dialog in the Dark is a timed exhibition allowing for approximately 60 minutes in the exhibit. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to reservation to pick up your tickets and queue up for the exhibit.
Visitors who arrive late and are unable to make their scheduled ticketed time, if space permits, will be placed in other time slots. However, if none are available for the same day, visitors may have to return another day or forfeit their ticket entirely.
Other information:
Tickets will not be mailed but will be available on the day of your visit for pick-up at WILL CALL located in Ticketing.
Outside food and beverage and chewing gum are not allowed, but as part of the experience beverages can be purchased within the exhibit with cash only.
The entire Exhibition experience is in complete and total darkness. Therefore, all light emitting devices such as watches, cell phones, cameras, sneakers, jewelry, and other glow in the dark ornaments are prohibited. Matches and lighters are also prohibited. You will be provided, at no charge, a secure locker located outside the exhibition entrance in which to deposit the aforementioned items along with glasses, purses, backpacks, matches, lighters, and other personal possessions.
To provide you with a comfortable and secure experience in the dark, security cameras are in place throughout the exhibition.
We recommend you wear comfortable shoes and refrain from wearing flip flops or shoes that can easily slip off your feet.
The entire exhibit is handicap accessible. Electronic wheelchairs cannot be used in the exhibition, but manual wheelchairs are available at the Information Booth on Level 1 or at the Information Booth located across from the exhibit entrance on the Lower Concourse Level
Public parking is available in the West Yards parking garage. First three hours are free. Groups should drop off and pick up at the front entrance (south side of the building) and pick up their tickets from the Information Booth on Level 1.
